WARREN, Ohio - Police in Warren are investigating following a fire that officers say was started by Molotov cocktails early Tuesday morning.

According to a police report, firefighters and police officers were called to a home on the 100 block of Maryland Street shortly after 3:30 a.m. Tuesday. The report states that firefighters found a Molotov cocktail in the living room.

Police say a glass bottle was used to break a window and went into the living room. While the bottle did not break, police say several items in the room were charred.

Outside the home, police say the metal siding appeared to be charred next to a second-story window. Another glass bottle Molotov cocktail was found on the ground directly below the window, according to the report.

One of the occupants of the home told police that she heard a pop sound, followed by the smoke alarm.

Police followed footprints left in the snow to the intersection of North Park Avenue and Maryland Street, where police believe the suspect to have entered a vehicle.

At this time, no arrests have been made and no suspects have been identified.
