Cleveland Browns mascot visits Jackson-Milton Elementary School

NORTH JACKSON, Ohio - Students at Jackson-Milton Elementary School were treated to a visit from a guest straight from the Dawg Pound.
Cleveland Browns mascot Chomps visited students at Jackson-Milton Elementary School on Tuesday, January 6, as part of the Browns' "Stay in the Game" attendance program to celebrate the school's successful attendance record.
The program's mission is to prioritize attendance by connecting students, families and school administration to resources aimed at addressing chronic absenteeism.
The district implemented the program at the start of the 2025-26 school year. This is the district's first year participating in the program.
Jackson-Milton Elementary School Principal and Assistant Superintendent Dr. Holly Welch is quoted in a press release saying the program was a great success this year.
"Our students have responded positively to all the program's mini-attendance initiatives, rewards and incentives," Dr. Welch said.
In addition to the visit from Chomps, other incentives the program offered students were monthly rewards for students with high attendance rates each month, as well as tickets to a Cleveland Browns football game.
