Youngstown Area Goodwill brings nonprofits together ahead of 'Thrift Trail'

According to a news release, the Youngstown Area Goodwill held a collaborative gathering during the week of January 5, 2026, ahead of a planned "Thrift Trail" involving nonprofits and thrift stores of the Mahoning Valley.
The collaborative event aimed to prepare nonprofits and to celebrate community partnerships. Pictured above are some of the participants of the collaborative gathering.
The 2026 Thrift Trail begins on Monday, January 12, and aims to encourage community members to visit their local thrift stores.
"This is what community impact looks like," said Goodwill CEO Shelley Murray.
Murray continued," The Thrift Trail is more than a map. It's a collaboration that brings nonprofits together, strengthens relationships and creates a shared experience for the community while supporting missions that truly make a difference."
Organizations present at the collaborative event who are also participating in the 2026 Thrift Trail included:
- The Way Station
- Veterans' Outreach
- Penny Pinchers
- The Menagerie by AWL
- Habitat ReStore
- St. Vincent de Paul of Mahoning County
- St. Vincent de Paul of Trumbull County
- Corner Store
Angels Missions and the Salvation Army are also participating in the 2026 Thrift Trail.
Anyone looking to support the 2026 Thrift Trail can make a $25 donation to Youngstown Area Goodwill Industries to purchase a trail map. Maps can be purchased anytime between January 12 and the conclusion of the trail in late March.
