In the state of Ohio, taxpayers can receive a tax credit from their personal donations to non-profit organizations.
The Ohio tax-credit scholarship program allows taxpayers to receive full or partial tax credits when they donate to non-profits that provide scholarships to students.
For a taxpayer filing individually, they are eligible for a tax credit up to $750. In a joint filing with both parties making eligible donations, they each can claim the credit for up to $1,500.
The donation has to be to a certified scholarship grant organization, which can be found here.
