Puzzle lovers find the perfect fit at Lake Milton winery event

A Lake Milton winery hosted a "Snow Day" puzzle race on Sunday, with teams competing to see who could finish putting their winter-themed puzzles together first.
Halliday's Winery's Wine Down Puzzle Race brought jigsaw-lovers together for a teams-of-two event to finish the "Snow Day! Cobble Hill Puzzle" alongside drinks and food.
"It was the perfect snowy day for puzzling," Jessica Lerch, manager of the winery, stated. "Our winners, Shanay Ponzi and Amanda Warner, completed the 500-piece puzzle in exactly two hours."
With 20 teams in competition, the winners received an unopened puzzle, popcorn and the puzzle they completed during the race.
Lerch stated that the second and third-place-winning teams finished back-to-back at around two hours and 30 minutes.
"This was our first puzzle race, and it went really well," Lerch stated. "This was a great community builder event. It's fun to meet new guests who all share the same passion."
With a sold-out crowd at Sunday's event, Lerch says that a second puzzle race is scheduled for Sunday, Feb. 1, to see who will be crowned the next Wine Down Puzzle Race winners. More information can be found on their Facebook page.
Halliday's Winery is located at 2400 NE River Rd. in Lake Milton.
