The opening of the new Red Plum Pizza and Pasta location in Boardman has been postponed.

The restaurant next to the Subway restaurant at 1393 Boardman Canfield Road was scheduled to open its doors at 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 12. However, the business announced Sunday that the timeline has shifted pending a "final utility-related upgrade."

A new opening date has not yet been confirmed.

When the restaurant does open next to Subway, it will feature menu items established at the chain's other locations. Offerings include small plates such as hot peppers and oil, loaded buffalo fries, and oven-baked meatballs with fresh ricotta.

The menu lists pasta dishes including penne alla vodka and chicken alfredo, as well as sandwiches like the chicken cutlet parm and "The Italian Deli," which features mortadella, baked ham, and hard salami. Sunday specials listed on the menu include a large Detroit "Red Top" cheese pizza and a New York-style cheese pizza.

Owner John Kouvas announced the expansion to Boardman and Kinsman in August 2025. The Kinsman restaurant on Main Street opened in October, joining the original location on East Market Street in Howland.
