The Youngstown Area Goodwill Industries kicked off the inaugural 2026 Thrift Trail on Monday. The event runs from Jan. 12 through March 31 and highlights consignment and thrift shops that support charitable causes in the region.

Residents can join the trail by donating $25 or more to the Youngstown Area Goodwill Industries. Donors receive an official map that guides shoppers to participating locations throughout the Mahoning Valley. Maps are available online at this link or in person at the Goodwill office on Belmont Avenue between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. on weekdays.

The collaborative effort features stores that use their proceeds to fund community services. Participating locations include Angels Missions, The Menagerie, The Way Station, St. Vincent de Paul, and Penny Pinchers. The trail also includes the Veterans Outreach Depot, Habitat for Humanity ReStore, The Salvation Army, and The Corner Store.

Organizers stated that the mission of the trail is to connect customers with businesses that provide social services. These shops support various causes, including veteran assistance, animal welfare, housing construction, food distribution, and job training.

Participants who travel the trail can enter a drawing for a prize package valued at more than $500. Organizers will announce the winner on April 7.
