YOUNGSTOWN - A Mahoning County judge swore in a new magistrate on Monday afternoon.

Judge R. Scott Krichbaum swore in attorney Ross Smith (pictured above) at noon on Monday, January 12, following the retirement of magistrate Tim Welch.

Judge Krichbaum described Smith as a man with great standing as an attorney, who has a deep, rich background and is a well-rounded person. Smith has 20 years of experience as an attorney.

Krichbaum adds that he met Smith in his professional role, but the two have since become personal friends.
