Youngstown Playhouse in search to fill 'dysfunctional family' roles for upcoming production

The Youngstown Playhouse is in search of actors to audition for the upcoming production of Nicky Silver's "The Lyons."
With a newly updated space on the third floor of the Morley Building above the Ballet Western Reserve studios on West Boardman Street, "The Lyons" production will be a premier for the playhouse.
Before the show can go on, the playhouse is holding auditions to fill five roles for Silver's dysfunctional family comedy play.
"The Lyons family must grapple with the impending death of its patriarch, Ben. When Ben Lyons' wife, Rita, and their grown children gather to say goodbye, they learn that despite being a family, each of them is utterly isolated. Afraid of closeness and afraid of solitude, they are propelled into foreign territory -- human connection," a new release states.
The release also states that the production team is committed to celebrating individuals' talents and consciously creating equal and inclusive opportunities for performers. As such, performers of all races, nationalities, gender identities, sexual orientations, body types, religious affiliations, and those with mental or physical disabilities are strongly encouraged to audition.
Rehearsals will begin on Sunday, Feb. 1. Performances of The Lyons will take place March 20, 21, 27 and 28 at 7:30 p.m. and March 22 and 29 at 2:30 p.m.
Those interested in more information regarding auditioning for the production are asked to contact Production Coordinator Caitlyn Santiago.
