A jury trial is scheduled to begin Tuesday for two men accused of murder in the January 2025 shooting death of a Youngstown man.

Kenneth L. Carter, 35, and Terry Hopkins, 23, will appear before Judge Anthony Donofrio in Mahoning County Common Pleas Court. Both men face charges of murder with firearm specifications.

The charges follow the death of Resean Graham, 42, who was found with several gunshot wounds at a home on Griselda Avenue. Authorities arrested Carter shortly after the shooting, while Hopkins turned himself in to the police several days later.

In addition to the murder charge, Carter faces charges of possession of cocaine and improper handling of firearms in a motor vehicle.

Court records show the trial has been delayed several times since the men were first charged in April 2025. Both defendants filed motions to dismiss the cases in late 2025, but Donofrio overruled those requests in December.

Attorneys filed final witness lists and evidence motions Monday as they prepared for the start of the proceedings.
