The Mahoning County Prosecutor's Office announced on Facebook that registration for the winter 2026 sessions of People's Law School would be opening soon.

Classes are anticipated to be held Tuesday evenings from February 10 through March 31 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Main Branch of the Public Library of Youngstown & Mahoning County, located at 305 Wick Avenue in Youngstown.

It is noted that no class will be held on March 17 due to Saint Patrick's Day.

The seven-week course is designed to provide a free overview of legal concepts to the community, taught by the Mahoning County Prosecutor's Office.

Classes include:

  • Hour 1: Criminal Prosecution and Plea Bargaining
  • The Constitution and Understanding Your Rights
  • Juvenile Law
  • Self Defense Law
  • Human Trafficking and Sting Operations
  • Misdemeanors and OVI
  • Mahoning County Governance and the Sunshine Laws
  • Wills and Estates

Anyone looking to register for the classes can do so beginning January 20 at noon on the Mahoning County Prosecutor's website.
