Farrell man faces sexual assault charges involving a 12-year-old girl

Sharon police arrested a Farrell man Tuesday following an investigation into the alleged sexual assault of a 12-year-old girl. Lee Terrance Mosley, 46, faces 10 felony counts related to the incident reported in late December.
The investigation began the day after Christmas when an assault was reported at a home in Sharon. According to court documents, the victim told investigators that a man whom her family knew entered the home while the family was sleeping. During a recorded interview with a specialist, the girl described being forcefully pulled from a staircase and subjected to multiple sexual acts.
The girl also told police that the man picked her up and placed her on a kitchen freezer during the encounter. After the man left the home, the child reported the incident to her mother, who then contacted the police. Medical professionals at Akron Children’s Hospital performed a sexual assault examination on the child the day the report was made.
Police interviewed Mosley on Jan. 9 at the Mercer County Jail, where he had been held since the day of the alleged incident. During the interview, police say Mosley admitted to entering the home on the morning of the incident. He told investigators he went upstairs to speak with the victim's mother but left the house immediately when she told him to go. Mosley denied any sexual contact with the child.
Records indicate Mosley is a registered sex offender in Pennsylvania. He is classified as a Tier III offender, which is the highest designation under the state's Megan's Law. Tier III offenders are required to register their address with the state police for their entire lives. Mosley has a previous conviction from 2016 for gross sexual imposition involving a child in Ohio
The charges filed Tuesday include five counts of involuntary deviate sexual intercourse with a child and five counts of aggravated indecent assault. All 10 charges are classified as first-degree felonies. Magisterial District Judge Travis Martwinski set Mosley's bail at $25,000 during a preliminary arraignment on Wednesday morning.
Mosley remains in the Mercer County Prison. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Jan. 28 at 10:30 a.m. The Mercer County District Attorney’s Office is prosecuting the case.
