Delicatessen in Liberty hosting 11th annual founder's birthday celebrations

According to a news release, a delicatessen in Liberty Township is set to host its 11th anniversary of the founder's birthday at the end of the month.
Rose Kravitz opened her deli in 1939 when she was 23-years-old. Her son, Jack Kravitz, would later take on the role of business management.
Since then, Matthew Rydarowicz became the owner of Kravitz Deli in 2016. The deli can be found at 3135 Belmont Avenue in Liberty.
To honor the beginnings of Kravitz Deli, the Rydarowicz family will host the 11th Annual Rose Kravitz Birthday and Jewish Food Fest from Monday, January 26, to Saturday, January 31, 2026.
Festivities for the celebration will include:
- Rose K extra-large sandwiches for $16
- Family-themed sandwiches, such as "The Herbie" and the "Three Kids"
- Birthday cake on January 29
- Birthday breakfast on January 31 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
- The "Tongue Challenge"
Certain dishes, including boiled egg bagels, chicken mish mosh soup, chopped chicken liver, knishes and sweet noodle kugel, will be featured on the menu throughout the week.
"Kravitz started as a family business and continues that way. To this day, some of our employees are second-generation family members from the original deli," said Rydarowicz.
Rydarowciz continued," Rather than ignore the deep-seated history of the deli in the community, we want to honor the traditions and recognize the impact Rose made on the entire region with her drive, practical approach and engagement with the customer."
