Bridge in Lisbon soon to see construction upgrade

A bridge in the Village of Lisbon will soon see an update in the next few months.
Lisbon Mayor Peter Wilson announced an update to the Pritchard Avenue bridge project on his Facebook page on Friday.
The bridge along Pritchard Avenue was originally built in 1938, with minimal work being done on the bridge since the 1970s.
Wilson says that the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) has increased the amount of funding provided through a construction grant that would be used to replace the bridge.
Lisbon originally applied for funding in 2021, where the construction costs were projected to be around $691,000.
Now, funding for the project has increased from the granted $1.15 million to $1.3 million to take into account higher construction costs.
Wilson states in the post that he hopes to see construction begin in April after bids for construction are completed. The closure of the bridge would be expected to last about six months while work is being done.
Furthermore, Wilson states that the village is working with the school district and the surrounding neighborhood to minimize disruptions to traffic.
