OIL CITY, Pa. - The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) has issued temporary speed restrictions on I-80 in the Shenango Valley due to winter road conditions Monday morning.

Speeds have been reduced to 45 miles per hour on I-80 from the Ohio state line all the way to Exit 45, which leads to Routr 478 in Clarion County.

Commercial vehicles not affected by these restrictions must move to the right lane.

While PennDOT is treating the roadways, its primary goal is to keep roads passable rather than making sure they are completely free of ice and snow.

PennDOT will continue to treat the roadways throughout the storm until precipitation stops and roads are clear.
