Historic Newton Falls bridge reopens after crash
As of January 23, Trumbull County Chief Deputy Engineer Gary Taneri confirmed with 21 News that the bridge reopened to traffic in the morning hours on Friday.

NEWTON FALLS, Ohio - The historic covered bridge in Newton Falls was closed to traffic after a car crashed into it and damaged it early Monday morning.
The crash happened around 2 a.m. when Trumbull County dispatchers say a car hit the bridge and drove away. The left side of the bridge sustained minor damage from the crash.
Trumbull County Engineer David DeChristofaro told 21 News that he believed the damage to be superficial and does not believe that there was any structural damage to the bridge.
