An aluminum building products manufacturer will open its new corporate headquarters and factory in North Jackson today. The event marks the company's 30th anniversary expansion.

Shapes Unlimited Inc. is moving into an 80,000-square-foot building at 13001 Mahoning Ave. This move brings the company's executive offices, manufacturing, storage, and shipping operations into one location.

The new building is the first part of the North Jackson Commerce Park. This 45-acre project is led by Top Property Holdings. The site is located less than a mile from Interstates 76 and 80. When finished, the park will have five buildings with more than 500,000 square feet of industrial space.

Shapes Unlimited makes and sells aluminum fencing, railing, and window parts. A company statement said the new factory uses high-speed machines and robots to work more quickly.

Doug Rende, the chief executive officer of Shapes Unlimited, said the new headquarters is an investment in the company's future and shows its commitment to the Mahoning Valley.

The company started in 1996. It sells products to builders and suppliers in the Northeast, Southeast, and Midwest.

Before this move, Shapes Unlimited worked out of buildings on East Western Reserve Road in Boardman. The new North Jackson site combines all the work that used to happen at the old location.

A ribbon-cutting ceremony for the new facility will take place at 11 a.m. today.
