WASHINGTON - A Georgia company is recalling more than 13,000 pounds of grilled chicken breast fillets because they might contain harmful bacteria.

Suzanna’s Kitchen, based in Norcross, Georgia, issued the recall after a laboratory test found Listeria monocytogenes in a sample of the meat. The U.S. Department of Agriculture says the recall involves 10-pound cases of fully cooked grilled chicken breast fillets with rib meat. These cases contain two 5-pound bags. The affected products have the lot code 60104 P1382 287 5 J14 and the establishment number P-1382.

The chicken was produced on Oct. 14, 2025. It was sent to food service distribution centers in Ohio and six other states, including Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Missouri, New Hampshire, and North Carolina.

Listeria is a type of bacteria that can cause serious infections. It is especially dangerous for pregnant women, older adults, and people with weak immune systems.

No one has reported getting sick from eating the chicken so far. Health officials say anyone who is worried about their health should talk to a doctor.

The company discovered the problem during routine testing. These products are usually sold to food service businesses rather than directly to individuals at grocery stores.
