Brian Banfield is retiring in June after 18 years in the Poland school district 10 more elsewhere.

The Poland Board of Education is expected to accept his retirement schedule to start June 30, 2026.

Banfield has been in charge of Poland athletics since August 2009 and prior to that was an assistant principal in the district from 2007 -2009.

He was a teacher in the Stow-Monroe district form 2004-2008 and began his educational career in the Barberton district from 1998-2004.

Banfield plans to remain available next school year in a support role to assist and consult with the incoming athletic director to ensure a smooth transition.
