An Ohio-based drug store chain has teamed up with the American Red Cross to help the organization provide shelter, food and comfort to disaster-affected areas.

Discount Drug Mart has invited customers to round up their purchases until January 25, 2026, at any of their 79 locations across Ohio, with 100% of proceeds donated to the American Red Cross, a news release states.

"The American Red Cross helps communities prepare for, respond to and recover from disaster, whether it's a hurricane or home fire," Red Cross Northern Ohio CEO Mike Parks stated. "Support from partners like Discount Drug Mart and everyone in the community allows us to be ready to provide help and hope whenever it's needed."

In the Mahoning Valley, the family-run, employee-owned company has locations in Lisbon and Columbiana.

"For more than 140 years, the American Red Cross has served people in their greatest times of need," Don Boodjeh, chief executive officer of Discount Drug Mart, stated. "Our generous and loyal customers consistently rise to the occasion to help others. We are grateful for their support and honored to partner with the American Red Cross."

Discount Drug Mart opened its first store in Elyria in 1969 and currently has stores in over 20 Ohio counties.
