Fans of Youngstown State University football will have the chance to meet quarterback Beau Brungard later this month at the Eastwood Mall. The free community event is scheduled for Friday, Jan. 30, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. in the mall's Center Court.

Brungard is a native of New Middletown and a graduate of Springfield Local High School. He recently announced he will return to the Penguins for his senior season in 2026. The upcoming event follows a 2025 season where Brungard led the team to an appearance in the Football Championship Subdivision playoffs.

During the past year, Brungard received several national honors for his performance on the field. He became the first player in school history to win the Walter Payton Award, which is given to the top offensive player in the FCS.

In addition to that award, Brungard was named the FCS Offensive Player of the Year by the Walter Camp Football Foundation, the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics, and Phil Steele. He also earned a spot as a unanimous First-Team All-American.

The meet-and-greet offers fans an opportunity to connect with the quarterback before he begins his final year with the university.
