CANFIELD - Students in the Mahoning County Career and Technical Center's (MCCTC's) Creative Arts & Design program partnered with Animal Charity on a real-world design project supporting the organization's Charlie's Secret Wish Program.

Students in Melissa Hackett's class participated in a logo design contest for the new program. They were challenged to create original logos using various color palettes, typography, and meaningful inspiration behind each design.

A total of 25 logos were submitted to Animal Charity, who narrowed their choices down to five finalists, who presented their logos and explained the inspiration behind their work.

Animal Charity selected Grace Krikpatrick as the winner. Her design will be used as the logo for the Charlie's Secret Wish Program.

As for the other four finalists, Caleb Greathouse's logo will be used on t-shirts for Animal Charity's annual Furball event, Savion Tuitt's design will be used during the organization's tattoo fundraising events and Evelynn Blasiman and Katelyn Garces' logos will be incorporated into murals in Animal Charity's new community common space.

All five designs will be professionally framed and displayed in the organization's community space, along with each student's written inspiration behind their logo.
