Western PA set to see over $20M in funding for various projects

Western Pennsylvania is set to receive over $20 million to fund various projects.
U.S. Representative Mike Kelly (R-PA) announced the funding in a news release on Friday. A total of $20.6 million in Community Project Funding (CPF) grants have been approved and passed by the U.S. House on Thursday.
In addition to other communities, two Lawrence County areas will see significant funding.
State Route 422 in Lawrence County will receive $3 million to aid in the Business Route 422 project. The project scope includes restoring and resurfacing an 8.5-mile stretch of the roadway to provide motorists with a more efficient route through the region, while improving drainage and pedestrian safety.
Meanwhile, State Route 18, also in Lawrence County, will receive $2 million to restore and repave State Route 18 between Wilmington Township and Neshannock Township. The roadway is reaching the end of its useful life and must be repaired.
The other $15 million is bound for Erie and Butler Counties to aid with projects such as an emergency operations command center, a replacement of an Aircraft Rescue Firefighting vehicle and other road repairs.
