Historic winter storm, extreme travel conditions Sunday

The biggest one-day snow total our area has seen in over 30 years is unfolding on schedule. All area residents are advised to stay off the roads unless absolutely necessary. The snow will taper off a couple of hours after sunset Sunday evening, after accumulating 12-16 inches throughout eastern Ohio and western Pennsylvania. The one silver lining is that this storm will not be a big wind producer.
It will take quite a while for the area to dig out. Although little additional accumulation is in the forecast for Monday, snow flurries will be around at times and wind chills will be no higher than the single digits. The rest of the work week will be very cold, but without any major snow events. Flurries can visit at times Tuesday through Thursday. The coldest morning is likely to be Tuesday morning, when wind chill values can drop as low as 15 degrees below zero.
Afternoon temperatures might finally crack the 20-degree mark again next weekend.
