PennDOT reducing speeds on some Mercer County, Lawrence County roadways

As of Sunday night, commercial vehicles are allowed back on two interstates in Pennsylvania, I-86 and I-90, but those vehicles must remain in the right lane.
A Tier 4 restriction is still in place for I-79, I-80 and I-376, meaning no commercial vehicles are allowed to drive on them.
The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced in an updated news release on Sunday, January 25, that some roadways in Mercer and Lawrence Counties would see speed limit restrictions.
PennDOT is urging residents to avoid any unnecessary travel. However, those who do travel will see reduced speeds on the following roadways:
- Interstate 79 from the West Virginia state line to the ending point in Erie County
- Interstate 80 from the Ohio State line to Exit 284, located in Blakeslee, in Monroe County
- Interstate 86 from the New York Line to the interchange with I-90
- Interstate 90 from the Ohio State line to the New York state line
- The entire length of Interstate 376
On these roadways, motorists will see a temporary speed restriction of 45 miles per hour.
Anyone looking to get information on roadway conditions or to access weather cameras can do so through the 511PA website.
