VIENNA TWP., Ohio - The Youngstown Air Reserve Station closed Sunday at noon and will remain shut through Monday, Jan. 26, as crews work to clear snow from the facility.

Officials at the base announced the closure because of severe winter weather and hazardous driving conditions. Normal operations at the station are scheduled to resume on Tuesday, Jan. 27.

While the station is closed, mission-essential personnel will continue to work their regular schedules. All other employees and members have been told to stay away from the installation to allow snow removal crews to clear the roadways.

The closure affects all Force Support Squadron facilities. This includes the base exchange, the fitness center, and the community activity center.

Base leadership advised all personnel to use extreme caution if they must travel. Road conditions on and around the station are reported to be slick and dangerous.

Members of the 910th Airlift Wing who have specific questions about their work status should contact their supervisors directly. Officials said they will provide further updates as weather conditions change.
