Snowmobile driver killed in Fowler Township collision with salt truck
A Vienna man died Sunday evening after his snowmobile was struck by a salt truck at a township intersection, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

FOWLER TWP., Ohio - A Vienna man died Sunday evening after his snowmobile was struck by a salt truck at a township intersection, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
Richard Coelho Jr., 49, was traveling south on Ridge Road on a Ski-Doo at 6:26 p.m. Troopers said Coelho stopped in the intersection of state Route 305, moving past the stop sign.
A 2024 Freightliner plow truck traveling west on Route 305 then struck the snowmobile. The driver of the truck was not injured.
Emergency responders pronounced Coelho dead at the scene. Investigators noted he was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
Troopers are still investigating the incident.
