Howland man indicted for alleged role in 2024 overdose death

An Erie County, Ohio, grand jury has indicted a Howland Township man on several charges related to the 2024 death of a Sandusky woman.
Jacob Dively, 44, faces four counts, including involuntary manslaughter, corrupting another with drugs, and drug trafficking. The charges stem from an investigation into the death of 41-year-old Jessica Dickman on Jan. 13, 2024.
According to the indictment, Dively is accused of providing fentanyl and alprazolam to Dickman, which led to her death. Investigators stated the offenses occurred in the vicinity of a school.
The Perkins Township Police Department led the investigation. Detectives continued to work on the case for more than a year before presenting evidence to the grand jury this month. Several law enforcement agencies from Trumbull County assisted in the arrest of Dively at his home in Howland.
Records from the Erie County Court of Common Pleas show a judge set Dively’s bond at $50,000. He is also required to wear an electronic monitoring device if he is released from jail before his trial. A court order also requires Dively to have no contact with the family of the victim.
Dickman, a mother of two, was a lifelong resident of Sandusky and worked as a mental health counselor.
As of Sunday, Dively remained in the Trumbull County Jail awaiting an appearance in Erie County Common Pleas Court scheduled on Wednesday.
