Organizations, churches and restaurants are getting ready for Lent.

Lent, a 40-day religious period, begins on Ash Wednesday, February 18, and ends on April 2, 2026.

21 News has compiled a list of fish fries that will be offered throughout the region.

MAHONING COUNTY

Daddy D's BBQ at the B&O Station, 520 Mahoning Avenue, Youngstown, 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Available from February 20 to April 3. Dinners include two five-ounce planks of cod, either beer-battered or broiled, with two sides for $17. A five-piece chicken tender, hushpuppies and fries are also available.

Hot Dog Allie, 1412 South Raccoon Road, Austintown, 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Offering battered fish and shrimp every Friday. Dinners include battered walleye sandwiches, walleye and shrimp combo or a golden fried shrimp dinner.

Our Lady of the Holy Rosary, 131 East Wood Street, Lowellville, 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Available on Ash Wednesday and every Friday during Lent by carry-out, dine-in or call ahead. Dinners cost $15 and include baked or fried fish or shrimp with the choice of one side: Mac and cheese, haluski, pierogi, pasta fagiolo, coleslaw, a dinner role and dessert. Orders will be taken by walking up, calling in at 330-536-8793 or with an order form at the church or church office.

St. George Croatian Center, 3200 Vestal Rd, Youngstown, 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Will be open Ash Wednesday and every Friday, cash or check only. Open to the public.  Baked, Fried Fish dinners, Shrimp, Scallops, combo platters and Potato Pierogi dinners available.  Call 330-270-9056 to place your orders.

St. Nicholas Mom's & Dad's Club, Christ Our Savior, Holy Name Society Fish Fry, St. Nicholas Great Hall, 762 5th St. Struthers, 4 to 7 p.m., Fridays, Feb 20 through March 27, $18 dine in or take out, Fried or baked haddock with three sides, mac & Cheese, Green beans, coleslaw, dessert and drink.
 
The Basilica and National Shrine of Our Lady of Lebanon, 2759 N Lipkey Rd North Jackson 44451, 4 p.m. to 7 p.m, Available every Friday during Lent. Dine in or carry out. Baked or fried fish, fried shrimp, homemade soup, haluski or french fries, coleslaw, dessert. Beverages included with dine in meal.  

TRUMBULL COUNTY

Howland Community Church, 198 Niles Cortland Road, Howland, 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. every Friday.

Saint Patrick Roman Catholic Church, 225 North Main Street, Hubbard. Fish dinners are available on February 20 and February 27, along with March 6, March 13, March 20 and March 27. Each dinner is $18 and includes one piece of haddock, two sides, bread, a dessert and a drink.

St. William Catholic Church, 5411 Mahoning Avenue NW, Warren, 4 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. every Friday between February 13 and March 27.

COLUMBIANA COUNTY

Beaver Creek Sportsman's Club, 14480 Washingtonville Road, Washingtonville, every Friday from January 30 through March 27 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Meals are available while supplies last each week. Available for dine-in or take-out. Several dinner options are available, including a fish or shrimp dinner ($17), a fish and shrimp combo dinner ($22), an extra fillet with dinner purchase is $8, shrimp à la carte ($8), mac and cheese ($5), a chicken tender dinner ($12) and dessert ($1). Calcutta Fire Department Good Friday Fish Fry, April 3 from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. Dinner is available dine-in or take-out, and each $10 dinner includes a choice of mac and cheese, coleslaw or french fries for a side. The dinner will include a bake sale and auction with all proceeds benefitting the St. Clair Township Tourism Bureau's Memorial Day Weekend Fireworks Festival on May 24.

The Vineyards at Pine Lake, 14101 Market Street, Columbiana, will have a drive-thru fish fry from 3:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. from January 30 through April 1, excluding March 6. Each dinner is $15, which includes beer-battered white fish, hot chips, onion dip, coleslaw and mac and cheese sides. Cash and credit cards are accepted.

LAWRENCE COUNTY

American Legion Post 343, 134 North Jefferson Street, New Castle, 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. between February 20 and April 3. Cod dinners are $16, sandwiches are $11 and chicken tender meals are $15. Cod dinners come with coleslaw, hushpuppies, a roll with butter and the choice between five sides: Mac and cheese, french fries, zucchini fries, green beans or additional hushpuppies. Available for take-out or dine-in and orders will be taken beginning at 10 a.m. by calling 724-658-3990 or by walking up to the window when lunch begins.

Bessemer Croatian Club, 601 East Poland Avenue, Bessemer. Haddock or walleye dinners are available year-round for $13.50 each. Dinners come with the choice of two sides between a potato, fries, mac and cheese or coleslaw. Available dine-in or take-out from noon to 8 p.m. Call 724-667-1066 to order.

MERCER COUNTY

The Grove City Beloved Disciple Knights of Columbus, 1347 South Center Street, Grove City, 4 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. every Friday during Lent. All-you-can-eat Fried Fish or 18 oz. Baked Fish for $15. Dinners include mac and cheese, potatoes, green beans, cole slow, tossed salad, dessert and choice of drinks.
