YOUNGSTOWN - The Tyler History Center is closed as of Tuesday, January 27, until further notice.

According to a Facebook post by the Mahoning Valley Historical Society, the center's closure is due to heating issues.

The Historical Society tells 21 News the heating system in the building cannot keep up with the frigid outdoor temperatures. They add that the heating system is not the issue, but that the building's age plays a factor.

It's anticipated that the Tyler History Center will not reopen for the rest of the week, since temperatures will not rise enough for the heat to work properly.
