Attorney Mark D'Apolito has officially filed for candidacy in the Mahoning County Judicial Race on Tuesday.

D'Apolito is looking to fill the seat currently held by Judge R. Scott Krichbaum, who will serve one more year as judge before retiring in February of 2027.

D'Apolito is a Boardman High School graduate and went on to complete law school at the University of Toledo. 

In 2018, he became an assistant prosecutor for Mahoning County, providing legal representation to various county entities, including the Board of Mahoning County Commissioners and the Mahoning County Sheriff, among others.

D'Apolito became an Austintown Township Administrator in 2022, serving under the direction of the township trustees, overseeing projects such as playground expansions and road resurfacing projects.

D'Apolito emphasizes his commitment to fairness and the protection of rights for all residents.

Residents can vote for Mahoning County Judge of the Common Pleas Court on Tuesday, November 3, 2026.
