YSU moves classes online for the remainder of the week
From Wednesday to Saturday, all in-person classes will take place online. Campus will remain open, as well as all residence halls.

Youngstown State University (YSU) has moved all in-person classes online for the remainder of the week.
The announcement was made through a PenguinAlert on January 27, 2026.
From Wednesday to Saturday, all in-person classes will take place online. Campus will remain open, as well as all residence halls.
Students are encouraged to monitor their emails for any communications from professors.
Staff were alerted in the notification that YSU has enacted "Unscheduled Leave Status" due to the severe temperatures.
Essential employees must report to work unless directed otherwise by a supervisor, while all nonessential employees may choose to work remotely or take unscheduled leave.
