YOUNGSTOWN - The American Red Cross is hosting two blood drives in Youngstown on Thursday, in hopes of adding the supply of blood to area hospitals.

Christy Peters with the American Red Cross Northern Ohio Region says the recent severe winter weather forced the organization to cancel 20 blood drives in the Northern Ohio Region.

Peters says those cancellations resulted in more than 550 pints of blood that were left uncollected.

The Red Cross is anticipating more cancellations nationwide as the frigid temperatures and winter weather continue, so to help keep the blood supply flowing in the Valley, two blood drives have been scheduled for Thursday, January 29.

The locations and times of the blood drives can be found below:

- Youngstown State University, McKay Auditorium at 250 Rayen Ave., Youngstown, 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 a.m.
- Park Vista, Multipurpose Room, 1216 Fifth Ave., Youngstown, 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
