Sharon man pleads guilty to federal cocaine, firearm charges

PITTSBURGH, Pa - Corey Adkins plead guilty Thursday to federal charges including drug trafficking and firearm crimes. The 28-year-old Sharon resident admitted to possessing a "quantity of cocaine" with "intent to distribute," according to a statement from United States Attorney Troy Rivetti.
According to federal law, Adkins faces at least five years in prison; he could serve as long as life in prison for the charges. In addition, he may be fined up to $2,250,000.
Adkins is scheduled to be sentenced April 23.
The investigation that led to Adkins' prosecution involved the FBI, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives as well as the Sharon Police Department.
