Troopers report $6M cocaine seizure along Ohio interstate

LONDON, Ohio - The Ohio State Highway Patrol is displaying 154 pounds of cocaine that they say was seized during a recent traffic stop just west of Columbus.
The Facebook post shows packages wrapped in green, stacked in the back of a truck that Troopers stopped in Madison County on Interstate 70 last Friday.
The Patrol arrested the driver, 46-year-old Omar Gonzalez-Flores of Ecatepec, Mexico. According to court records, a trooper stopped the blue semi-trailer for a federal commercial truck inspection. During the stop, a drug-sniffing dog alerted officers to the drugs.
A search of the trailer revealed 73-kilogram packages of cocaine. Troopers reported the drugs were hidden inside a wooden cabinet that had been sealed with caulk to hide the contents. The estimated street value of the seizure is $6.3 million.
Gonzalez-Flores told investigators he was traveling from Arizona to Cleveland. He is currently held in the Tri-County Regional Jail on a $400,000 cash bond. He faces a first-degree felony charge of possession of a controlled substance.
A preliminary hearing for the case is scheduled today in Madison County Municipal Court.
