CANFIELD - The South Range Raiders are rallying in support of Athletic Director Donee Feren at their basketball game Friday night.

According to a press release, Feren, who was diagnosed with cancer, recently experienced a period of cancer remission until this latest setback with the disease.

That's why the Raiders are inviting the community to "Pack the Gym" for their basketball game Friday night, where there will be various raffles to support Feren's family, including a 50/50 raffle, a lottery tree and raffle baskets.

South Range Superintendent Jarred Zapolnik is quoted in a press release saying the Raiders are making sure he doesn't fight this battle alone.

"Donee is a staple in this community and nobody was about to let him navigate this alone. Our entire district has collaborated in a short amount of time to organize Friday's fundraiser. The way this community supports its fellow Raiders is a true reflection of what Raider Nation is made of," Zapolnik said.

The Raiders tip off at home against the Boardman Spartans on Friday, Janaury 30, beginning with Junior Varsity at 5:30 p.m., followed by Varsity at 7 p.m.
