Former Valley Congressional candidate to file for candidacy in Ohio Senate race

YOUNGSTOWN - A former Valley Congressional candidate is looking to run for election again, but this time in a different race.
Michael Kripchak, a Democrat who previously ran against Mike Rulli in 2024 for a seat in Ohio's 6th Congressional District, now plans to run for the 33rd District seat in Ohio's Senate, which is currently held by Republican Al Cutrona.
Kripchak plans to file for candidacy on Friday afternoon.
In a press release, Kripchak is quoted as saying Ohio needs representation in Columbus that understands the needs of working men and women in the state.
"Ohio has been under corrupt one-party control for too long. We deserve public servants that work to improve our lives, not fight culture wars. We deserve someone who will fight to protect our public schools, bring industry back to our District and make Ohio a state that works for everyone," Kripchak said.
Kripchak is a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and also served as a math teacher at Chaney High School in Youngstown. He says if he is elected, he promises to bring the same drive and determination that he had in both of those jobs.
