Some customers of National Fuel Gas Distribution Corporation, also known as National Fuel, may see a rate increasein the next month, beginning in February 2026.

The news was shared in a release on Friday, where National Fuel announced that it has submitted its quarterly adjustment to gas supply charges to the Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission.

The adjustment would raise the monthly bill of a residential customer with an annual usage of 96,500 cubic feet of gas by $5.62, bringing one's total bill from $85.77 to $91.39 if the adjustment were to pass.

The change would become effective on Feb. 1, 2026, if accepted.

According to the release, the reason cited for the proposed adjustment is due to higher market prices for natural gas, which have increased the costs of natural gas suppliers that National Fuel uses to purchase for customers.

The next opportunity to adjust gas supply prices is May 1.

On Thursday, National Fuel also announced a request submitted to the Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission to increase its annual base delivery rate revenues by $19.7 million.

If this request were to be approved, residential customers using 80 hundred cubic feet of natural gas each year would see a monthly bill increase of $4.95 and would go into effect on November 1, 2026.
