GIRARD, Ohio - The Youngstown Toy Show brought joy, and lots of toys, to anyone who wandered inside Sweet Memories Vintage Tees and Candy on Saturday.

The free event allowed guests the chance to tour the show and check out retro toys and games from over a dozen vendors. Toy Show promoter and vendor Carlos Rivera said it took roughly a month to put the show together and gather vendors. He added that he was pleased with the event's turnout.

"11 'o clock we had people waiting to come in which is always a good thing," Rivera said.

Despite the cold, Rivera said he was happy to see people chose to warm up with them over at Sweet Memories, and take a look at the toys they had up for sale.

Rivera also said they are currently working on plans for more local toy shows plus the annual Mahoning Valley Comic Con, which takes place every December at the The Metroplex Expo Center. This year's comic con will be on December 12.
