Flying High, Inc. announced in a news release that it will be unveiling a new training program and hosting a hiring party next week.

According to the release, Flying High, Inc., a nonprofit that aims to help people develop and train their skills, will officially launch its new "Culinary Fundamentals" training program on Monday, February 2, 2026.

This program, offered through Flying High, Inc.'s Professional Development Center, aims to teach participants about the following areas:

  • History of food
  • ServSafe, a certification that recognizes food-safe handling
  • Culinary math
  • Nutrition and local food
  • Knife skills
  • Restaurant flow
  • And more

The course covers 300 hours of content, split into 25 hours per week over 12 weeks.

Following the ceremony celebrating the new program, there will be a restaurant industry hiring party on Friday, February 6, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Hampton Inn in Canfield, located at 6690 Ironwood Boulevard.

At this hiring event, local restaurants and caterers have been invited to meet job candidates and discuss potential employment opportunities.
