Rally held in Lisbon to protest ICE, remember shooting victims

A rally was held in Lisbon on Saturday. Organizers say that they wished to protest the actions of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents and remember two shooting victims from Minneapolis.
The protest in Lisbon aimed to gather community members in mourning and remembrance for Renee Nicole Good and Alex Pretti, who were both shot and killed by ICE agents.
Organizers with the Columbiana County Democratic Party and the Democratic Women's Caucus hoped to remind those in attendance to use their voices and remember their rights.
"People have rights. Use your voice. Don't let fear be your guide. Lead with love and lead with your actions of love and humanity," said Heather Smith, one of the organizers of the rally.
In addition to the message of peace and going forward with humanity, Smith also wished to see a decrease in violence perceived following the events in Minnesota.
"It doesn't seem like violence shows up until ICE shows up. So, I just don't want to see the violence anymore. I'd like to see human rights, I'm a fan of human rights," said Smith.
The group told 21 News that they are planning to organize another rally in mid-February.
