'Raffle for Rescues' fundraiser aims to support several animal rescues, charities
A basket and gift card raffle event held in Austintown on Sunday afternoon is aiming to support several Mahoning Valley-area animal shelters and charities.
The "Raffle for Rescues" fundraising event, presented by Presents 4 Paws, was held at Davidson's Restaurant, located at 3636 Canfield Road, on Sunday, February 1.
According to a poster outlining the event, guests in attendance had the opportunity to win prizes, ranging from gift cards to nearly 50 different raffle baskets.
Proceeds from the event will benefit a few different animal charities and shelters across the Mahoning Valley, including:
- Every Dog Matters Rescue Group
- All About the Pawz
- Animal Resource Center
- Good Sam's Helping Hands
Each of the shelters listed above are nonprofit organizations that aim to rescue, rehabilitate, rehome and assist dogs and other animals throughout the Mahoning Valley area.
April Morris, the co-chairman of Presents 4 Paws, told 21 News that fundraising began in late 2025, with giving trees being distributed to five Valley organizations to gather donations in December.
Morris says that Presents 4 Paws aims to do fundraisers like these annually, hoping to support at least four nonprofits each time.
