Jury selection is scheduled to begin Monday morning for a Warren man accused of a stabbing at a Niles shopping plaza last year.

Kenyon Kellum, 52, faces charges of attempted murder and two counts of felonious assault. The trial is set to take place in the courtroom of Judge Sarah T. Kovoor starting at 9 a.m.

The charges follow an incident in November 2025 at the Gentry Center plaza on Route 422. Witnesses told police that an argument between a group of people in the parking lot led to a man being stabbed in the neck.

Kellum’s attorney, Aaron Meikle, recently filed a notice with the court stating that Kellum acted in self-defense during the encounter.

Police arrested Kellum shortly after the stabbing at a hotel near the shopping center. A second person, 46-year-old Zulekha Berry, was arrested last week in connection with the same case. She also faces an attempted murder charge.

Kellum has remained in the Trumbull County Jail since his arrest.
