Mahoning County Recorder drops bid for County Commissioner race
Scarcella was considering filling the seat vacated by Commissioner Carol Remedio-Righetti, but now says in a press release that he has decided to focus more on his plans for the County Recorder's Office.

YOUNGSTOWN - Mahoning County Recorder Richard Scarcella has announced that he decided not to seek the role of Mahoning County Commissioner at the moment.
Scarcella was considering filling the seat vacated by Commissioner Carol Remedio-Righetti, but now says in a press release that he has decided to focus more on his plans for the County Recorder's Office.
"At this time, I would like to complete the Notary Fraud Alert rollout, usher in the online access of records in late June and finish the office renovations," Scarcella said.
Scarcella says he hasn't ruled out the possibility of running for Mahoning County Commissioner in 2028.
