Students from Youngstown State University's (YSU) Sokolov Honors College presented a check to United Way of Youngstown on Monday, February 2.

In total, the United Way received a $10,000 donation from the students, all in an effort to support the organization's work.

The United Way of Youngstown and the Mahoning Valley, according to its website, is an organization that aims to create positive change in the community by empowering children and families through its programs.

The funds presented were raised by the students through events at several businesses, including Raising Cane's and BJ's Brewhouse.

Additionally, some students painted driveways for some households throughout the community.
