A quiet stretch before an active end to the week

A pair of quiet days will lead us right to an active end to the week with another batch of accumulating snow.
Wednesday will feature more sunshine in the morning and increasing clouds in the afternoon. Temperatures will rise only to the low 20s in the afternoon, so a slight drop compared to the high temperatures from Tuesday.
Thursday stays cloudy from start to finish with temperatures starting in the single digits and rising again to the low 20s.
Light snow will begin close to sunrise on Friday, turning widespread for a time in the morning and into the afternoon with bands of scattered snow showers late in the day and into Friday night. Roads will become slick from time to time, so prepare for slick travel at times throughout the day. As far as how much snow will add up, expect snowfall totals ranging from 2 to 4 inches across the area, with most receiving between 2 and 3 inches.
After an active Friday, harsh cold returns for the weekend.
Temperatures on Saturday will start below zero for some and only rise to the low teens; the potential is there for Saturday's high temperatures to be our coldest since late January of 2019. Wind chill values will stay well below zero Saturday morning, and stay below zero much of the day.
Sunday will feature some sunshine, but high temperatures will only make it to the upper teens with wind chill values below zero for part of the day.
Monday stays colder with high temperatures in the low to mid 20s, but relief from the harsh cold will arrive as early as Tuesday with high temperatures in the low to mid 30s. Temperatures are trending to stay in the 30s after Tuesday.
