Suspect in Niles hotel standoff indicted on felony charges

TRUMBULL COUNTY, OH - A Trumbull County Grand Jury has formally indicted the Warren man involved in a December 2025 police standoff at a Niles hotel.
63-year-old Mickel Hall has been indicted on two counts of felonious assault with three-year firearm specification, possession of a fentanyl-related compound and domestic violence, according to the grand jury report.
Hall was arrested in December after an overnight standoff with police at the Days Inn on Route 422 in Niles. A police report from Warren PD also alleges Hall shot a woman in the chest before fleeing to the Days Inn, where police located him. Niles Police used tear gas to subdue Hall in one of the hotel's rooms, after he refused to come out — ending the standoff.
Hall was scheduled for a video arraignment in Warren Municipal Court on December 18, 2025 but, according to court records, the the hearing could not move forward because Hall refused to leave his jail cell.
An arraignment date for Hall will be set in the next two weeks.
