BEAVER TOWNSHIP - A Youngstown woman was indicted on Thursday in connection with a deadly crash in Beaver Township in July of 2025.

According to a Mahoning County grand jury report, 61-year-old Sally Strom was indicted on a second-degree felony charge of aggravated vehicular homicide.

Additionally, while initial reports stated that alcohol or drugs did not appear to be a factor in the crash, Strom was charged with two first-degree misdemeanor counts of driving under the influence, according to the indictment.

Court records do not show an arraignment date for Strom yet.

The charges stem from a crash on Route 7 in Beaver Township between Hutter Drive and West Garfield Road that claimed the life of 49-year-old Clinton Vankirk in July of 2025.

Troopers with the Ohio State Highway Patrol said Strom's vehicle traveled across the center line and struck the side of Vankirk's vehicle. Both vehicles went off the road and overturned.
