More frigid air before some brief relief

Saturday marked our 16th consecutive day with a sub-30-degree high, the longest such stretch since January 2003.
Sunday will mark day 17 of that stretch, with high temperatures remaining frigid. Expect morning temperatures to reach around 0 degrees around daybreak, with temperatures only rising to the mid-teens Sunday afternoon, despite a good amount of sunshine.
Temperatures on Monday morning will be even colder, falling between 5 and 10 degrees below zero, with wind chills as low as 15 degrees below zero. Monday will start with plenty of sunshine, with high clouds moving in throughout the second half of the day, and temperatures will climb into the mid-20s.
We will see our first high above freezing in February on Tuesday, with temperatures approaching 40 degrees in many locations on Tuesday afternoon.
It will be a one-day reprieve, as temperatures fall back to the freezing mark on Wednesday afternoon and drop to sub-freezing levels to end the week.
This week will be extremely quiet, with no precipitation expected over the next seven days.
