MERCER, Pa. -  A Butler County woman faces multiple felony and misdemeanor charges for a 2025 golf cart crash in Mercer County that resulted in the death of one passenger and injuries to another.

Natalie Jo Lally, 24, of Mars, Pa., was charged Tuesday in connection with the May 24, 2025, incident in Jackson Township.

Pennsylvania State Police report that Lally was driving a golf cart on Latonka Drive with six passengers when the vehicle rounded a curve at a speed she could not control. The loss of control caused three passengers to be thrown from the vehicle onto the roadway and grass.

One passenger, Megan Marie Mappin, suffered fatal head injuries and died two days later at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital. An autopsy confirmed Mappin died from blunt force trauma to the head, neck, and torso. Another passenger required 10 stitches for a head injury, while a third passenger was not injured.

At the scene, a state trooper reported that Lally had glassy, bloodshot eyes and a strong odor of alcohol. When asked about her alcohol consumption, Lally reportedly told officers she had "enough" and felt like she "had a lot". A laboratory report later showed her blood alcohol content was .164% at the time her blood was drawn, which is more than double the legal limit.

Lally is charged with homicide by vehicle while driving under the influence and aggravated assault by vehicle while driving under the influence, both of which are second-degree felonies. She also faces misdemeanor counts of driving under the influence and recklessly endangering another person, as well as summary offenses for reckless and careless driving.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for March 11 before Magisterial District Judge Douglas E. Straub.
